JAAC (hereinafter “we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information responsibly. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, store, and protect personal information on our website (jaac.ca or equivalent domain), including through our online store/pricing plans, contact forms, service requests, and other features.

We comply with applicable privacy laws, including Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) at the federal level and Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (as amended by Law 25). For Quebec residents, our practices align with the stricter provincial requirements.

  • Information you provide voluntarily

    • When purchasing a pricing plan, submitting a form, or requesting services: first name, last name, email, phone number, address (including full billing/shipping address if applicable), and any additional details (e.g., long-answer responses about your needs or preferences).

    • No medical or diagnostic information is collected; our services are non-medical and complementary (therapies and support provided by therapists who are members of the RITMA – Regroupement des intervenants et thérapeutes en médecine complémentaire/alternative).

  • Information collected automatically

    • IP address, device/browser type, pages visited, visit duration, referral source.

    • Cookies and similar technologies (see Cookies section below).

  • Payment information

    • Credit card or other payment details are collected and processed securely by our third-party payment provider (Wix Payments or integrated gateway). We do not store full card numbers on our servers.

Information is collected through:

  • Direct input on forms, checkout pages, or service requests.

  • Automatic technologies (cookies, server logs).

4. Purposes for Collecting and Using Your Information

We collect and use personal information for the following purposes:

  • To provide and manage our non-medical psychological health services and pricing plans.

  • To communicate with you (e.g., confirmations, follow-ups, support).

  • To improve our website and services (analytics via Google Analytics).

  • To comply with legal obligations (e.g., record-keeping, incident reporting).

We limit collection to what is necessary for these purposes.

5. Sharing and Disclosure of Your Information

  • Secure hosting and data storage by Wix (PCI DSS Level 1 compliant for payments).

  • Access controls, firewalls, monitoring, and regular updates.

While we take all reasonable measures, no system is infallible. In the event of a confidentiality incident posing a risk of serious injury, we will notify you and the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec, as required by law.
